Have I stayed too long at the Fair?

NO!  I never want to leave!!

This is my fair.  It’s a certain comfort to know your fair by heart.
But wow, I gotta see these!  Lots of driving in the fall!

The Iowa State Fair is held in August,  Here is a brief 2010 sampling of food on a stick: Start with a Salad on-a-stick. Then a nice lunch of Chicken club on-a-stick.  But, oh my, what to choose for dessert?  Deep fried Milky Way bar on-a-stick or Twinkie log on-a-stick (frozen Twinkie dipped in white chocolate and rolled in cashews).  Also, it has dozens of contests including Women's Rubber Chicken Throwing!  I have got to see this!

The State Fair of Texas. The greatest Fair in the World.  It’s open most of October.
This fair has lots of food contests. From casseroles to BBQ to Spam.  And many food hobby collections, such as Butter Dishes, Cook Books and Cooking pamphlets!
Last, but hardley least, there is the  Glue a Shoe Contest. I don’t know what this is, just that the rules say - no edible substances!

The Minnesota State Fair is another big Fair, open late August to early September. The oldest ride at this fair is the permanent  Ye Olde Mill, built in 1913, is an old fashion boat ride.  This fair seems to have a lot to offer in two short weeks!  And a campground opens just for the fair.

(It seems that Iowa has the Ye Old Mill ride also! Yet not as old as the Olde one.  New in 1921.    http://www.blueribbonfoundation.org )
