Spring and Science

At Night at the Museum this month, we celebrated spring in  many ways.  Including decorating peat pots and planting sunflower seeds!

The RVer's Bible

So, you finally arrived in the USA form Mars, and thought it would be a fine idea to peruse America in a recreational vehicle?
May I suggest to you, intergalactic traveler, buy this book!  In it you will find practically everything you need to know about RVing.
And for Earthlings, included in this guide are tips and topics you didn't imagine you needed to know in the first place.

Nice Round Hat

After borrowing 15 crochet books from the Library . . .  I finally learned to read crochet.  Sort of.

Round 1 said:  3 ch, 11 dc into ring, 1ss in 3rd ch. 12 dc. Huh?

I am not fluent yet.  The hat I tried had few instructions in this new language-code.

When I translated it into English, it was pretty easy and fun to make.

Maine, The Pine Tree State.

State Motto - I Direct (Dirigo)

The North Star in the State Flag of Maine represents the state motto, Dirigo.

The Maine State Museum manages the historical collections housed in Maine's capitol, known as the State House, and in the Blaine House, the home of Maine governors and their families.

Maine Fiberarts is a statewide arts nonprofit formed to support Maine fiber.

The Maine Lobster Festival is held in August. Unfortunately, since I can’t eat a butter-dipped Lobster, I think I’d really enjoy a Lobster Crate Race!

Crafting for Mad Money

Today my horoscope said this:
While sorting out stuff to sell at the flee market, I found some old Fimo bricks and clay tools.

There are sure to be rainy days for crafting. At camp fire sing-a-longs, I’ll bring along my Knitting.

In order to avoid clutter and make some extra cash, I’ll sell  my creations at Craft Shows.  I’ll just rent a space.

And yes the gigantic SUV will be able to stow along my big folding table to display my handiwork.

Let's just see what this artist-lite can do!

Florida, The Sunshine State

Florida State Motto - "In God We Trust"

Florida became the twenty-seventh state in the United States on March 3, 1845.
Florida had not adopted an official state motto until June 22, 2006. Governor Jeb Bush signed a House Bill adopting
In God We Trust as the official state motto of Florida on July 1, 2006.

Before I leave for  parts unknown, there 2 places I have been before, that I must see again.   I’ll first start at the bottom to see the CATMAN!!  Every time I go to Key West, I  must see the Cats that jump through FIRE! Oh My!

On the way out, up and over to the west coast,  I’ll stop at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers.

Then on to Tallahassee, where I have never been, to see the old and new capitol buildings.

The Historic Florida Capitol structure was built in 1895

The New Capitol was finished in 1977.

Ohio, The Buckeye State.

State Motto - “With God All Things Are Possible”

The State of Ohio celebrates Ohio statehood on March 1. The reason for this is because the Ohio General Assembly met for the first time on this day in 1803. In reality, Ohio became a state on February 19, 1803, when President Jefferson endorsed the United States Congress's decision to grant Ohio statehood. www.ohiohistorycentral.org
