Connecticut, The Constitution State.

State Motto - "Qui Transtulit Sustinet" (He Who Transplanted Still Sustains)

Connecticut became a state on January 9, 1788. The name comes from Quinnehtukqut, Mohegan for Long River Place or Beside the Long Tidal River
