A Gap Year (or two)

When I retire from my real job ...  I’m going to work at the Happiest Place on Earth!
www.fun at the park!

Look at the Joy that is bursting out of these people!!
On my first visit (1985!) to Walt Disney World, from the cornor of my eye, I saw this Magical job!
Oh to be a Walking Information Booth & tidy up at the same time!
What could be better than that!

Nice Round Hat

After borrowing 15 crochet books from the Library . . .  I finally learned to read crochet.  Sort of.

Round 1 said:  3 ch, 11 dc into ring, 1ss in 3rd ch. 12 dc. Huh?

I am not fluent yet.  The hat I tried had few instructions in this new language-code.

When I translated it into English, it was pretty easy and fun to make.

Crafting for Mad Money

Today my horoscope said this:
While sorting out stuff to sell at the flee market, I found some old Fimo bricks and clay tools.

There are sure to be rainy days for crafting. At camp fire sing-a-longs, I’ll bring along my Knitting.

In order to avoid clutter and make some extra cash, I’ll sell  my creations at Craft Shows.  I’ll just rent a space.

And yes the gigantic SUV will be able to stow along my big folding table to display my handiwork.

Let's just see what this artist-lite can do!

One (wo)mans junk . . .

Since I have to empty my house, I decided sell all my stuff.
For years when I got rid of things around here I would fill up a shopping bag or two for the Salvation Army. It never occurred to me to sell stuff I was giving away for free.
Because of my cautious (paranoid) nature, a yard sale is not for me. No, I don’t want strangers to come to my house. So off I went to the flee market.  I found out that if you get there before 5:30 in the morning it only costs five bucks for a 20 foot spot!
They rent racks to hang up clothing.

So last Saturday I was on line at 4:30 with my packed and tarped truck, which earned me a great spot near the entrance.  I made little paper signs for prices.
    And I Made Money!
Since I’ve turned into some what of a handyman, I had lots of manly odds and ends that were popular with the guy browsers and a lot of kitchen gadgets for the ladies. I got rid of two ugly lamps and an old vacuum too!
And people were giving me money!!
I had a 25 cent table and was like “buy this and take this for free.”  I had a lot of fun giving stuff away.  Although I didn't break 100 dollars, the goal was to get rid of stuff, and I drove home with a much lighter load.
And I left that day with real money!!!
Next sale will be about Christmas decorations, sewing notions and whatever's in the mysterious boxes in my garage.

Home is where the Sewing Machine is.

I believe every home should have a sewing machine. So of course I plan on putting mine in my little silver home. But I  want to bring the cabinet along too! It’s the only piece of furniture I want to keep.
I’ve tried to figure out the space from the specs from the many brochures I have collected. It seems to be 22” from the foot of the bed to the wall, and my sewing cabinet is 20 1/2” That  is a tight fit - but a fit it is!
I’m am going to cut out a piece of cardboard in the size of the perimeter of the cabinet and take it with me to the dealer.  I’ll be able to tell right away if it will even fit through the doorways I need it to go.
Maybe I can get a double size bed rather than the queen. That will still leave room for the two cats to sleep.
