For years when I got rid of things around here I would fill up a shopping bag or two for the Salvation Army. It never occurred to me to sell stuff I was giving away for free.
Because of my cautious (paranoid) nature, a yard sale is not for me. No, I don’t want strangers to come to my house. So off I went to the flee market. I found out that if you get there before 5:30 in the morning it only costs five bucks for a 20 foot spot!

So last Saturday I was on line at 4:30 with my packed and tarped truck, which earned me a great spot near the entrance. I made little paper signs for prices.
And I Made Money!
Since I’ve turned into some what of a handyman, I had lots of manly odds and ends that were popular with the guy browsers and a lot of kitchen gadgets for the ladies. I got rid of two ugly lamps and an old vacuum too!
And people were giving me money!!
I had a 25 cent table and was like “buy this and take this for free.” I had a lot of fun giving stuff away. Although I didn't break 100 dollars, the goal was to get rid of stuff, and I drove home with a much lighter load.
And I left that day with real money!!!
Next sale will be about Christmas decorations, sewing notions and whatever's in the mysterious boxes in my garage.
